In sheep and cow oocytes, vesicles constitute up to 30% of the cytoplasm, their volume decreases during maturation and is lower in poorer quality oocytes, suggesting they are important for oocyte competence. However, the composition and function of these organelles is unknown.

Research exposure in UK paediatric training: how do we address the gaps-experience from the London REACH network.

Trainee-led Research Networks (TRNs) can mitigate against the lack of in-training academic opportunities by offering research experience, support and shared learning for paediatricians. The London Research, Evaluation and Audit for Child Health (REACH) Network, founded in 2021, has grown to involve a diverse group of 190 volunteer members at 28 London hospitals. Planning and delivery of a range of multisite projects bring not only many challenges but also a wealth of learning opportunities relating to research and quality improvement as well as leadership, management, education and fostering an accessible and equitable research culture.

Ubiquitin (Ub) is a post-translational modification that largely controls proteostasis through mechanisms spanning transcription, translation, and notably, protein degradation. Ub conjugation occurs through a hierarchical cascade of three enzyme classes (E1, E2, and E3s) involving >1000 proteins that regulate the ubiquitination of proteins. The E2 Ub-conjugating enzymes are the midpoint, yet their cellular roles remain under-characterized, partly due to a lack of inhibitors.

The passive dissolution of anthropogenically produced CO into the ocean system is reducing ocean pH and changing a suite of chemical equilibria, with negative consequences for some marine organisms, in particular those that bear calcium carbonate shells. Although our monitoring of these chemical changes has improved, we have not developed effective tools to translate observations, which are typically of the pH and carbonate saturation state, into ecologically relevant predictions of biological risks. One potential solution is to develop bioindicators: biological variables with a clear relationship to environmental risk factors that can be used for assessment and management.

Background: In oral and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), sentinel node biopsy (SNB) was described as a reliable and reproductive alternative to elective neck dissection for the staging of clinical N0 T1-T2 patients. Background: Teacher-delivered behavioral classroom management interventions are effective for students with or at-risk for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other disruptive behavior challenges, but they can be difficult for teachers to use in the classroom. In this study, we will pilot test a package of implementation strategies to support teachers in using behavioral classroom interventions for students with ADHD symptoms.

Methods: We will use a 2-group, randomized controlled trial to compare outcomes for teachers who receive Positive Behavior Management Implementation Resources (PBMIR), a theory and data-driven implementation resource package designed to increase teacher implementation of behavioral classroom management interventions, with those who do not receive this additional implementation support.

The sample included 2617 adolescents who were enrolled in eighth grade in a large urban school district in the United States, were enrolled in Medicaid during eighth grade, and had a mental health diagnosis. Psychiatric hospitalization, school enrollment, school absences, out-of-school suspensions, school dropouts, and school exits for negative reasons were examined as mental health and educational outcomes.
