Comparison of the Ease-of-use and Preference Between Two Aromatherapy Delivery Methods in the Perioperative Setting.

Purpose: Nurses at the study hospitals had implemented aromatherapy as an evidence-based intervention to alleviate nausea, pain, and anxiety in patients in the perioperative setting. Initially, they were approved to administer aromatherapy using large, multidose bottles with gauze as the method of delivery; however, nurses recognized that there were many disadvantages to using this method. This led to a nurse-driven initiative to create a new delivery method for aromatherapy with the aid of the Center for Innovation at the organization.

Integrating Wikipedia editing into health professions education: a curricular inventory and review of the literature.

Introduction: Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia read by millions seeking medical information. To provide health professions students with skills to critically assess, edit, and improve Wikipedia's medical content, a skillset aligned with evidence-based medicine (EBM), Wikipedia courses have been integrated into health professions schools' curriculum. Contemporary Patterns of Multidisciplinary Care in Patients With Muscle-invasive Bladder Cancer.

Background: Multidisciplinary clinics integrate the expertise of several specialties to provide effective treatment to patients. This exposure is especially relevant in the management of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), which requires critical input from urology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology, among other supportive specialties.

Materials And Methods: In the present study, we sought to catalog the different styles of multidisciplinary care models used in the management of MIBC and to identify barriers to their implementation.

Chemical composition and in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of apple phenolic extracts and of their sub-fractions.

Apple extract powders from three different manufacturers were investigated for their anti-inflammatory activity, their total phenolic content, and their chemical composition. The samples represented two production batches for two products and a single batch of a third. The samples showed similar, but clearly different, anti-inflammatory activities, and had substantially different total phenolic contents, and different chemical compositions.
