Bendamustine and rituximab (BR) is a preferred first-line therapy for indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (iNHL) and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL); however, few reports on BR performance in elderly patients are available to date. We compared safety and efficacy of BR in patients ≥70 years (elderly) vs <70 years (younger) treated at our institution. Among 201 patients, 113 were elderly (median age: 77 years), including 38 patients ≥80 years, and 88 were younger (median age: 62 years).

We evaluated whether montelukast and rupatadine improve rituximab delivery, decrease frequency/severity of IRs and the number of medications used to control IRs. Using a nonrandomized clinical study design, we assessed adult rituximab naïve patients with B-cell lymphoid malignancies from January 2017 to July 2019.

However, medical records often contain limited information about factors contributing to AEs. We implemented an augmented trigger tool that supplemented record review with debriefing front-line staff to obtain details not included in the medical record.

HLH may be primary, due to an underlying genetic abnormality, and/or secondary to infection, malignancy, or rheumatologic conditions. We describe a case of HLH-associated severe pulmonary hypertension paralleling Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation in a 52-year-old male in whom a novel perforin missense mutation was found (PRF1 1517C>T).

However, combined therapy is associated with increased neurotoxicity. In an effort to limit this toxicity, we treated a series of non-immunocompromised patients with HDMVP, a HD-MTX based regimen, with deferral of WBRT until progression.
