Objective: To evaluate impact of a 12-week, online, guided, self-paced intervention of mindfulness and self-care practices on self-compassion, attentiveness, and perceived stress.
Participants: University healthcare faculty and students.
Methods: Participants received 7 different mindful and self-care activity options every week for 12 wk.
Background: The differential diagnosis for thrombocytopenia in critical illness is often extensive. This study was performed to determine the incidence of thrombocytopenia in septic patients undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) versus those not undergoing CRRT.
Objective: The primary outcome of this study was to compare the development of thrombocytopenia, defined as a platelet count ≤ 100 × 10/mm, in septic patients within 5 days of time zero.

The Housing First (HF) model of permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness has a strong evidence base that has largely been driven by researchers in the field of community psychology in partnership with community-based organizations. However, important gaps in the HF literature remain. Implementing rigorous research designs to further the evidence for HF requires immense resources to fund both the housing intervention and the research activities.

We conducted a pilot randomized controlled trial comparing a 6 week sub-threshold exercise program requiring only two in-person visits to active control (stretching) for 12-18 year old youth with persistent sport-related concussion. We measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity pre- and post-intervention using accelerometry, and increased goals weekly via phone contact.

Purpose: While many programs have demonstrated pharmacist-led antimicrobial stewardship successes in inpatient and emergency department (ED) settings, there is a paucity of literature exploring these initiatives in urgent care (UC) sites. This study aimed to determine the impact of implementing a pharmacist-led antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) in the UC setting.
Methods: A retrospective quasi-experimental study was conducted evaluating UC patients with positive urine or wound cultures following discharge.
In order to identify novel genes affecting cell wall integrity, we have generated mutant strains of the filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans that show hypersensitivity to the chitin-binding agent Calcofluor White (CFW). Affected loci are designated cal loci. The phenotype of one of these alleles, calI11, also includes shortened hyphal compartments and increased density of branching in the absence of CFW, as well as reduced staining of cell walls by the lectin FITC-Concanavalin A (ConA), which has strong binding affinity for mannosyl residues.
