We assessed the efficacy and safety of vamorolone, a modified synthetic corticosteroid, for DMD.
Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis using seven databases including prospective studies comparing vamorolone with glucocorticosteroids or placebo in DMD patients.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Almost 40% of individuals at ultra-high risk (UHR) for psychosis experience persistent attenuated psychotic symptoms (APS) yet it is unclear (1) whether they share overlapping clinical and functional outcomes compared to individuals who transition to psychosis, (2) when symptom and functioning trajectories begin to diverge between UHR individuals with different clinical outcomes, and (3) whether non-remission (persistent APS or transition) can be predicted using baseline and/or longitudinal data.
Study Design: Participants were drawn from 2 randomized clinical trials: Neurapro (n = 220; discovery sample) and STEP (n = 180; external validation sample). First, 12-24 month symptoms and functioning were compared between UHR individuals with persistent APS, sustained remission, or transition to psychosis.
Objective: This study introduces the SEEK Teen Questionnaire, expanding the Safe Environment for Every Kid (SEEK) approach to include adolescent perspectives alongside caregiver responses for dual psychosocial screening. The objective of this study aims to triangulate adolescent responses with those of their caregivers to demonstrate the benefits of dual psychosocial screening.

Although limited research has shown muscle mass indexes and physical performance levels of adults with DS are similar to or lower than older adults with sarcopenia, there is still a large gap in the literature regarding sarcopenia.
Objective: This brief report provides a comprehensive descriptive analysis of sarcopenia and obesity markers in individuals with DS.
Severe lung injury causes airway basal stem cells to migrate and outcompete alveolar stem cells, resulting in dysplastic repair. We found that this "stem cell collision" generates an injury-induced tissue niche containing keratin 5 epithelial cells and plastic Pdgfra mesenchymal cells. Single-cell analysis revealed that the injury-induced niche is governed by mesenchymal proliferation and Notch signaling, which suppressed Wnt/Fgf signaling in the injured niche.

Despite its known benefits specifically for rural patients, oncology outreach reallocates physician resources to satellite clinics and may negatively impact the coordination of cancer care.
Methods: In this retrospective study, we identified patients with incident breast, colorectal, and lung cancers from 2016-2019 nationwide Medicare claims and linked them to oncologists using Part B.

Purpose: Microsurgical reconstruction, including vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) and lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA), have emerged as promising treatment options for chronic breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL).
