Objective: To evaluate the seasonality of acute bronchiolitis in Brazil during the 2020-2022 season and compare it with the previous seasons.

Methods: Data from the incidence of hospitalizations due to acute bronchiolitis in infants <1 year of age were obtained from the Department of Informatics of the Brazilian Public Health database for the period between 2016 and 2022. These data were also analyzed by macro-regions of Brazil (North, Northeast, Southeast, South, and Midwest).

Benzbromarone as adjuvant therapy for cystic fibrosis lung disease: a pilot clinical trial.

Objective: Cystic fibrosis (CF) affects multiple organs, the most severe consequences being observed in the lungs. Despite significant progress in developing CF transmembrane conductance regulator-specific treatments for CF lung disease, exploring alternative CF-targeted medications seems reasonable. We sought to evaluate the potential beneficial effects of oral benzbromarone as an adjuvant therapy in CF patients with reduced lung function.

Patients with an early carcinoma of the breast are commonly treated by breast-conserving surgery (BCS) and postoperative radiotherapy. Partial-breast irradiation has gained acceptance in the last few years. Between December 2008 and December 2017, 182 low-risk breast cancer patients treated by BCS in the four university hospitals of the province of Las Palmas and treated with APBI using interstitial multicatheter brachytherapy were included in this study.

In-office dental bleaching in adolescents using 6% hydrogen peroxide with and without gingival barrier: a randomized double-blind clinical trial.

Background: At low concentrations used for in-office bleaching gels, such as 6% HP, gingival barrier continues to be performed. If we take into account that, in the at-home bleaching technique, no barrier is indicated, it seems that the use of a gingival barrier fails to make much sense when bleaching gel in low concentration is used for in-office bleaching.

Objective: This double-blind, split-mouth, randomized clinical trial evaluated the gingival irritation (GI) of in-office bleaching using 6% hydrogen peroxide (HP) with and without a gingival barrier in adolescents, as well as color change and the impact of oral condition on quality of life.

Background: HaH serves as a safe alternative to traditional hospitalization by providing acute care to patients in their homes through a comprehensive range of hospital-level interventions. To our knowledge, no studies have been published to date reporting a large cohort of early home-transferred patients after surgery through a HaH unit.

Cyanobacteria can produce cyanotoxins such as microcystin-LR (MC), saxitoxin (STX), and anatoxin-a (ANTX-a) which are harmful to humans and other animals. Individual removal efficiencies of STX and ANTX-a by powdered activated carbon (PAC) was investigated, as well as when MC-LR and cyanobacteria were present. Experiments were conducted with distilled water and then source water, using the PAC dosages, rapid mix/flocculation mixing intensities and contact times of two drinking water treatment plants in northeast Ohio.
