Aims: There is limited information on the sex-specific longitudinal changes of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) after an acute heart failure (AHF) hospitalization. We aimed to investigate whether LVEF trajectories over time and their impact on mortality and AHF readmission rates differ between men and women.

Methods And Results: We conducted a retrospective sex-specific analysis of longitudinal LVEF measurements (n = 9581) in 3383 patients with an index hospitalization for AHF in a single tertiary-level hospital.

Acral lymphomatoid papulosis (a-LyP) is a rare clinical variant of LyP whose diagnosis may be challenging. A case series of a-LyP was studied clinically, histopathologically, immunohistochemically, and from molecular point of view. Including ours, 25 cases of a-LyP have so far been reported.

Article Synopsis
  • - Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is characterized by repeated dusky-red to brownish skin patches that appear at the same sites after a patient takes a specific drug again, commonly triggered by antibiotics, anticonvulsants, or analgesics, with very few cases linked to metformin.
  • - A case study highlights an 86-year-old man who developed a generalized itchy macular rash with reddish to violaceous patches after taking metformin, showing notable histopathological features such as vacuolar degeneration and necrotic skin cells.
  • - This case is significant as it presents the first report of cutaneous hemophagocytosis related to metformin-induced generalized FDE, although the hemophagocytosis observed had

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is an ancillary technique to improve diagnostic accuracy and prognosis in histopathology of both inflammatory and neoplastic cutaneous disorders. However, only a few studies address specifically the set of antibodies available for inflammatory or neoplastic skin diseases. In this study, we analyzed the IHC studies performed for inflammatory and neoplastic skin disorders in cutaneous biopsies taken in our department during 1 year.
