Caring for Latina/o/e/x, Hispanic, and/or Spanish (LHS) adolescents' health involves challenges and strengths unique to this fast-growing ethnic minority. Through the exploration of self and ethnic identity, LHS adolescents may find themselves represented in core values to protect against the negative effects of discrimination and internalizing symptoms. In order to provide equitable health care to LHS adolescents, health care systems, educational organizations, and government agencies must educate themselves on cultural humility and the role that social determinants of health have on perpetuating poor health care outcomes for this population.

Although Utah's diversity is steadily increasing, the race/ethnic diversity of the program's family medicine residency does not reflect the state's general population.
Methods: From 2017 to 2021, the residency instituted several adjustments to recruitment processes, including modification of an existing screening system to better highlight resiliency in overcoming challenging life experiences; promotion of commitment to diversity during interview days; incorporation of increased participation from diverse faculty and residents on interview days; and addition of outreach from the Office of Health, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Women with PCOS who are not seeking pregnancy commonly have symptoms such as excessive weight, hirsutism, and menstrual irregularities. This review focuses on interventions to manage those symptoms.

The present work demonstrates the application of a miniaturized pulsed IR stimulator for chronic implantation in cats, quantifies its efficacy, and short-term safety in stimulating auditory neurons. IR stimulation of the neurons was achieved using an optical fiber inserted through a cochleostomy drilled in the basal turn of the cat cochlea and was characterized by measuring compound action potentials (CAPs).

The effects on cochlear function have been studied in an animal model and were compared to the effects of the micro drill.
