Aims: Diagnosing myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is difficult as they often have increased high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) concentrations.
Methods And Results: Observational US cohort study of emergency department patients undergoing hs-cTnT measurement. Cases with ≥1 hs-cTnT increase > 99th percentile were adjudicated following the Fourth Universal Definition of MI.
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of the previously recommended baseline high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) thresholds of 52 and 100 ng/L in identifying patients at high risk of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Prediction of major arrhythmic events (MAEs) in dilated cardiomyopathy represents an unmet clinical goal. Computational models and artificial intelligence (AI) are new technological tools that could offer a significant improvement in our ability to predict MAEs. In this proof-of-concept study, we propose a deep learning (DL)-based model, which we termed Deep ARrhythmic Prevention in dilated cardiomyopathy (DARP-D), built using multidimensional cardiac magnetic resonance data (cine videos and hypervideos and LGE images and hyperimages) and clinical covariates, aimed at predicting and tracking an individual patient's risk curve of MAEs (including sudden cardiac death, cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation, sustained ventricular tachycardia lasting ≥30 s or causing haemodynamic collapse in <30 s, appropriate implantable cardiac defibrillator intervention) over time.

Thromboembolic events and increased bleeding risk are among the most important complications of ATTR, though the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Methods: Clinical, echocardiographic, laboratory characteristics, available coronary arteries imaging and endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) findings of 174 patients with CA (n = 104 with transthyretin, ATTR; n = 70 with light chains, AL) were analyzed.
Results: Chest pain was reported in 66 (38%) CA patients.
Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) is an uncommon, progressive, and fatal disease; the two main forms that can affect the heart are transthyretin CA and light chain CA (AL-CA). AL-CA is a medical urgency for which a diagnostic delay can be catastrophic for patients' outcome. In this manuscript, we focus on the pearls and pitfalls that are relevant to achieve a correct diagnosis and to avoid diagnostic and therapeutical delays.

Methods: Retrospective, multicenter (n = 2), observational, US cohort study of consecutive emergency department patients without ST-elevation myocardial infarction who had at least one hs-cTnT (limit of quantitation [LoQ] <6 ng/L, and sex-specific 99th percentiles of 10 ng/L for women and 15 ng/L for men) measurement on clinical indications in whom HEAR scores (0-8) were calculated. The composite major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) outcome was 30-day prognosis.

Methods: This was an observational cohort study of adult emergency department patients undergoing high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) measurement.
Myocardial injury is common in patients with COVID-19 and is associated with an adverse prognosis. Cardiac troponin (cTn) is used to detect myocardial injury and assist with risk stratification in this population. SARS-CoV-2 infection can play a role in the pathogenesis of acute myocardial injury due to both direct and indirect damage to the cardiovascular system.

It is characterized by an increased left ventricular (LV) mass and diastolic dysfunction, which can lead to heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and/or conduction disturbances. The diagnosis is based on invasive pathology demonstration of amyloid deposits, or non-invasive criteria using advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques.
