Faricimab versus the standard of care for neovascular age-related macular degeneration in Italy: an indirect treatment comparison.

Objectives: To assess through an indirect treatment comparison (ITC) the potential benefit of faricimab over the anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) real-life scenario, hereby defined standard of care (SoC), in Italy, that is, aflibercept, bevacizumab, and ranibizumab, in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) naïve to any anti-VEGF treatment.

Methods: Individual patient-level data from the phase III clinical trials TENAYA and LUCERNE (faricimab cohort) and the real-world study RADIANCE (RADIANCE cohort) were used. Efficacy was evaluated with changes in best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central subfield thickness (CST) from baseline to 1 year (week 52 in the RADIANCE and week 48 in the faricimab cohorts, respectively).

PerFECT 2.0: A Web-Based Platform Designed to Facilitate and Support the Diagnosis of Patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in Italy.

Introduction: Timely and accurate diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is challenging, requiring specific tests including chest high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), and limited by access to specialist centres with a multidisciplinary team (MDT). Here we describe PerFECT 2.0, an Italian web-based platform designed to create a network between tertiary centres with an MDT (hubs) and secondary centres (spokes), aiming to facilitate the diagnosis of IPF.

Subcutaneous tocilizumab alone or with a csDMARD in rheumatoid arthritis patients: subanalysis of Italian data from a multicenter phase IIIb/IV trial.

To assess, in a setting close to real life, the efficacy and safety of weekly subcutaneous tocilizumab (TCZ-SC) 162 mg, alone or with a conventional synthetic DMARD (csDMARD), in moderate-to-severe RA patients with inadequate response to DMARDs or anti-TNFα drugs. This national, multicenter, open-label, phase IIIb trial is part of an umbrella study (TOZURA). Patients were treated for 52 weeks followed by 8 weeks drug-free to evaluate immunogenicity.

Tocilizumab in the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in real clinical practice: results of an Italian observational study.

Objectives: To describe the effectiveness and safety of tocilizumab (TCZ), an interleukin-6 receptor inhibitor, in a cohort of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) recruited in clinical practice.

Methods: TRUST was an observational study in RA patients who started treatment with TCZ in the 6 months prior to site activation and were still on treatment at start of study; patients were followed up to 12 months after the first TCZ infusion.
