Pretreatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio predicts worse survival outcomes and advanced tumor staging in patients undergoing radical cystectomy for bladder cancer.

Objective: To determine the role of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in prognosticating survival outcomes in patients with advanced/metastatic urothelial bladder cancer.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 84 patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC) for UCB from January 2002 to June 2012. NLR was computed (median: 5 days) prior to surgery.

Prostate specific antigen bounce after intensity-modulated radiation therapy in an Asian population.

Objective: Serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) is commonly used to evaluate treatment response after definitive radiation therapy (RT). However, PSA levels can temporarily rise without a clear reason, termed "PSA bounce", and often engender great anxiety for both patients and physicians. The present study aimed to determine the prevalence and factors that predict "PSA bounce" after intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and the relevance to biochemical failure and cancer recurrence in an Asian population.

Oncological outcomes following robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy in a multiracial Asian population.

This study evaluates the oncological outcomes of RARP in a multiracial Asian population from a single institution. All suitable patients from 1st January 2003-30th June 2013 were identified from a prospectively maintained cancer registry. Peri-operative and oncological outcomes were analysed.
