Objective: Sleep disorders are widespread and constitute a major public health risk. The present study thus aims to investigate the effect of a facial cosmetic self-massage daily routine on women's sleep and well-being.
Methods: The present pilot study was conducted on 62 middle-aged women declaring daily tiredness and sleep troubles.
Two major arms of skin ageing are changes in the skin's biophysical conditions and alterations in the skin microbiome. This work partitioned both arms to study their interaction in detail. Leveraging the resolution provided by shotgun metagenomics, we explored how skin microbial species, strains and gene content interact with the biophysical traits of the skin during ageing.

Pediatric patients with BAT can often be managed without surgical interventions; however, laboratory testing is often recommended. Yet, laboratory testing can be costly, and current literature has not identified appropriate pathways or specific tests necessary to detect intra-abdominal injury after BAT.

Researchers have identified impacting environmental factors (sun exposure, smoking, etc.) and several molecular mechanisms leading to skin aging.

Methods: We queried the Pennsylvania Trauma Outcomes Study Database to identify patients younger than 18 years injured by trains between 2007 and 2016.
Background: Cosmetics are commonly attributed with increasing skin evenness, yet little published data characterizes the effect, either perceptually or physically. We therefore investigated whether makeup increases skin evenness using a perceptual measurement and two physical measurements of color and luminance homogeneity.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-two French women (aged 29-45 years) were photographed without cosmetics, with self-applied cosmetics, and with professionally-applied cosmetics.
To describe for the first time a novel technique of thoracoscopic intercostal nerve mobilization and intercostal to phrenic nerve transfer in the setting of tetraplegia with the goal of reanimating the diaphragm and decreasing ventilator dependence. A 5-year-old female on 24 h ventilator support secondary to traumatic tetraplegia was evaluated for possible phrenic nerve pacing. Left-sided phrenic nerve stimulation did not result in diaphragmatic contraction indicating a lower motor neuron injury.

One factor thereby is the chronic accumulation of senescent cells and the concomitant senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) that contributes to microenvironment remodelling and a pro-inflammatory status. While protein based SASP factors have been well characterized, little is known about small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) and their miRNA cargo.

The study, which aims at determining genetic risk factors for eyelid sagging, was conducted in a cohort of 502 unrelated Caucasian women living in the Paris region.

While many visual aging scales have been developed, few have been validated and none in terms of degree of distinguishability (DD). We developed and validated a series of visual scales using a novel digital interface for scoring facial skin aging in Caucasian women.

The case illustrates a number of failure events in transferring information and responsibility from oncology to primary care teams. The article emphasizes the importance of shared leadership, as multiple team members, dispersed in time and space, pursue their own objectives while achieving the common goal of coordinating care for survivors of cancer transitioning across settings.

In this genome-wide association study, we aimed to identify genetic loci associated with solar lentigines on the face in 502 middle-aged French women.

We aimed to build a prediction model capable of identifying individuals with a reported enteric disease who could be at risk of acquiring future sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Materials And Methods: Passive surveillance data on Montreal residents with at least 1 enteric disease report was used to construct the prediction model.
Objectives: Studies of public health reporting have only examined multiple episodes of the same communicable disease within an individual. We aimed to characterize Montreal residents with multiple reportable disease episodes from 1990 to 2012, while accounting for all types of reportable diseases.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Background: The combination of an anti-VEGF or an anti-EGFR-targeted monoclonal antibody with chemotherapy has shown clinical activity in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. However, combining both anti-VEGF and anti-EGFR antibodies with chemotherapy in first-line treatment resulted in adverse outcomes. We assessed whether the combination of erlotinib, an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor, with bevacizumab could increase the efficacy of maintenance therapy in patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer.

Our objective was to investigate the associations between all these parameters and vitamin D status in a large sample of French adults. This cross-sectional survey was based on 1,828 middle-aged Caucasian adults from the SU.

Among these changes, we can distinguish the skin topographic cues (skin sagging and wrinkles), the dark spots and the dark circles around the eyes. Although skin changes are similar in Caucasian and Chinese faces, the age of occurrence and the severity of age-related features differ between the two populations.

The nonadherence rate to hormonal treatment is reported to be as high as 60%. The goal of this study was to evaluate the factors evoked by the patients as well as the demographic and disease-related factors that could be associated with nonadherence to adjuvant hormonal therapy.

Objective: To investigate associations between daily n-3 PUFA intake and the severity of skin photoaging.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 2919 subjects aged 45-60 years from the SU.

Background: Sleep lines are caused by individual's sleeping positions and should be differentiated from expression wrinkles.
Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate possible risk factors for sleep lines on a sizeable sample of middle-aged Caucasian women.
Methods: This study involved a sample of 542 French middle-aged women (44 to 70 years old) from Paris area.
A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted on 502 French middle-aged Caucasian women to identify genetic factors that may affect skin aging severity. A high-throughput Illumina Human Omni1-Quad beadchip was used. After single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) quality controls, 795,063 SNPs remained for analysis purposes.
