Background: Electrocardiography (ECG) interpretation is a fundamental skill for medical students and practicing medical professionals. Recognizing ECG pathologies promptly allows for quick intervention, especially in acute settings where urgent care is needed. View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted routine childhood vaccinations worldwide with low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) most affected. This study aims to quantify levels of disruption to routine vaccinations in LMICs.
Methods: A systematic review (PROSPERO CRD42021286386) was conducted of MEDLINE, Embase, Global Health, CINAHL, Scopus and MedRxiv, on the 11th of February 2022.
Although health care is encouraged to follow an evidence-based approach, there are perceived instances where suboptimal practice persists in the presence of better options due to an inherent resistance to change within many health care systems. To continue striving for clinical excellence, it is important to identify deficient practices and make appropriate corrections by implementing new and improved techniques and treatments. Bringing about change, however, tends to be a long, arduous process consisting of several small and successive deviations from the norm, analogous to "turning the oil tanker".
