Background And Aims: Several factors exist regarding the risk for, healing and prevention of pressure ulcers (PUs). A mobile PU team with an individualized holistic approach adapted to the home or outpatient clinic setting could be beneficial for the prevention, and management of PUs.

We examine the dimensions and determinants of social status qualifiers among Swedish people using a survey of 1,650 Swedish respondents who ranked the importance of 14 qualifiers for the social status of a woman and a man. The analysis showed surprisingly strong similarities in what factors affect the social status of women and men - both in the importance of individual status qualifiers and in the three underlying status dimensions: The highest-ranked dimension included status qualifiers related to external material resources and properties.

Objects: The aim of this study was to describe the presence of anxiety and depression among patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and their relatives from diagnosis and during the disease progression. An additional aim was to explore if the patient's physical function correlated with the patients' or relatives' anxiety and depression.

Methods: A prospective and longitudinal study, including 33 patients with ALS and their relatives who filled out the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) at the time of diagnosis and over a period of two years.

Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein and its potential impact on local anesthetic dose in neonates.

Background: Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein is an acute-phase protein with a high affinity for amide local anesthetics. Compared to adults, neonates have lower concentrations of this glycoprotein in plasma, and are therefore at higher risk of developing local anesthetic toxicity. Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein concentrations rise in adults after surgery as a response to stress as well as in inflammatory conditions.

ProBio is an outcome-adaptive, multiarm, multiple-assignment randomised, biomarker-driven platform trial in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Here we describe the amended clinical protocol, focusing on expansion of the trial to include patients with de novo metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.

Pain, disease severity and associations with individual quality of life in patients with motor neuron diseases.

Background: Up to 85% of people with motor neuron disease (MND) report pain, but whether pain has negative impact on quality of life is unclear. The aim was to study associations between pain, disease severity and individual quality of life (IQOL) in patients with MND.

Methods: In this cross sectional study, 61 patients were recruited from four multidisciplinary teams in Sweden, whereof 55 responded to the pain measure (The Brief Pain Inventory - Short form) and were included in the main analyses.

One leg standing time predicts fracture risk in older women independent of clinical risk factors and BMD.

Unlabelled: In women of ages 75-80 years, a low one leg standing time (OLST) was associated with an increased risk of incident fractures, independently of bone mineral density and clinical risk factors. OLST contributed substantially to fracture probability, indicating that the test should be considered when evaluating fracture risk in older women.

Introduction: Physical function and risk of falls are important risk factors for fracture.

Anxiety and depressive symptoms in women with fear of birth: A longitudinal cohort study.

Introduction: Anxiety and depression during pregnancy could imply difficulties in the attachment to the unborn baby. The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence and change in anxiety and depressive symptoms in pregnant women with fear of birth. Another aim was to explore associations between symptoms of anxiety and depression on prenatal attachment.

Partners' expectations and experiences of the project 'Midwife All the Way': A qualitative study.

Introduction: Continuity models of midwifery care are significant factors in facilitating a positive childbirth experience for birthing women. A knowledge gap exists regarding partners' experiences of continuity of midwifery care during pregnancy, birth, and after birth, although it is essential to understand the experiences of both parents in relation to continuity of care. Thus, the aim of this study was to highlight partners' expectations and experiences of having participated in a continuity of midwifery care project.

Quality of life among relatives of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: A prospective and longitudinal study.
