Routine bacterial cultures of corneal scrapings from seven cats with either ulcerative feline keratitis, keratomalacia, or both yielded colonies which were identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing as Mycoplasma felis (six cases) and Mycoplasma gateae (one case).
