Objectives: Predictors of acute hematologic toxicities during definitive chemoradiation for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are incompletely defined.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 604 patients treated with definitive platinum-based doublet chemoradiation therapy for stage III NSCLC. The outcome of interest was grade ≥3 acute hematologic toxicities, specifically white blood cell, hemoglobin, platelet, neutrophil, and lymphocyte decrease during chemoradiation therapy.
Purpose: Assess the importance of overall time (OT) and dose for biochemical failure (BF) after external-beam radiotherapy of prostate cancer in a retrospective analysis of a nine-institution database with 4839 patients.
Patients And Methods: Relevant baseline factors (T stage, Gleason score, initial PSA) were available for 4338 men. Cox models were used to estimate the effects of dose and OT corrected for baseline factors, treatment year, institution and interactions, and differences in post-treatment PSA-measurement intervals.
Objectives: To determine whether nadir prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels within 12 months (nadir PSA12) after completion of radiotherapy (RT) can be used as an early marker of recurrence risk.

Methods And Materials: A total of 2,693 patients treated with radioisotopic implant as solitary treatment for T1-T2 prostatic adenocarcinoma were studied. All patients had a pretreatment PSA, were treated at least 5 years before analysis, 1988 to 1998, and did not receive hormonal therapy before recurrence.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate effect of increasing dose on risk groups for clinical failure (CF: local failure or distant failure or hormone ablation or PSA>or=25 ng/ml) in patients with T1-T2 prostate cancer treated with external beam radiotherapy.
Methods And Materials: Patients (n=4,537) were partitioned into nonoverlapping dose ranges, each narrow enough that dose was not a predictor of CF, and risk groups for CF were determined using recursive partitioning analysis (RPA). The same technique was applied to the highest of these dose ranges (70-76 Gy, 1,136 patients) to compare risk groups for CF in this dose range with the conventional risk-group classification.

Over the last 15 years we have collected follow-up information in this new era and struggled with failure definitions using this new tool. Parameters for failure after radiation were especially controversial due to the fact that, unlike surgery, a variable amount of normal prostate function and PSA production remained.
