Streptococcus oralis-Induced Meningoencephalitis and Ventriculitis in a Geriatric Female Patient.

A 71-year-old female with a history of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia developed altered mental status, fever, headache, and vomiting. Subsequent evaluation revealed meningoencephalitis and ventriculitis due to Streptococcus oralis, which was found to be ceftriaxone-sensitive. The patient's condition improved with ceftriaxone treatment, leading to complete recovery.
