Aiming to highlight the valorization of the natural products and the green synthesis processes, this work describes the development of a nanoscale system based on the use of alginate to encapsulate a blend of oils (vegetable and essential oils), not previously reported, with antibacterial and antioxidant actions. The Guandu River, one of the main rivers in the state of Rio de Janeiro, provides water for more than nine million people in the metropolitan region. However, the Guandu has suffered from massive domestic and industrial pollution for more than two decades, leading to high levels of dissolved total phosphorus, cyanobacteria, and enteric bacteria observed during the summers of 2020 and 2021.
