Alteration of mitochondrial metabolism by various mutations or toxins leads to various neurological conditions. Age-related changes in energy metabolism could also play the role of a trigger for neurodegenerative disorders. Nonetheless, it is not clear if restoration of ATP production or supplementation of brain cells with substrates for energy production could be neuroprotective.

It was found that this process led to the formation of stable colloidal solutions of silver nanoparticles. The kinetics of the formation of the nanoparticles was investigated by the observation of a time-dependent increase in the intensity of the plasmon resonance peak that is related to the nanoparticles and appears in the range of 400 to 700 nm.

We quantitatively examined major control mechanisms of PT in rat brain (RBM) and liver (RLM) mitochondria. Compared with RLM, RBM were less sensitive to cyclosporin A (CsA), but the combined action of CsA+ADP was much more pronounced in RBM.

The aim of the present study was to investigate delayed effects of nitric oxide donor S-nitroso-N-acetyl-l,l-penicillamine (SNAP) application in cardiac H9c2 cell line. Cardiomyocytes were treated with SNAP for 2h followed by 24h wash with fresh growth medium.
