Giant lipomas, rare benign tumours composed of mature adipose tissue, represent only 1% of all lipomas, typically exceeding 10 cm in diameter or weighing over 1000 g. These tumours can cause nerve compression, discomfort, or functional impairment, necessitating surgical excision. We report a 52-year-old male with a giant intramuscular lipoma in the periscapular region, initially identified following significant weight loss after bariatric surgery.

Introduction: Height is an important psychosocial indicator, with short stature linked to a poorer quality of life. This study investigates public perceptions and attitudes toward cosmetic stature lengthening, a surgical procedure designed to increase individuals' height without a standard necessity.
Methods: Using a mixed-methods approach, an online general population sample was surveyed using a crowdsourcing platform (Prolific Academic), which facilitates demographically representative samples.
At the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and healthcare, it is essential that clinicians grasp the ability of chatbots. AI-powered chatbots such as ChatGPT are being explored for their potential benefits by both individuals and institutions. The utility of ChatGPT (OpenAI) in various scenarios was explored through a series of recorded prompts and responses.

Despite its effectiveness in limb salvage, TFR is associated with high complication and failure rates, which vary depending on the underlying indication.
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis adhered to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.
Purpose: Capitellum and trochlea fractures, also referred to as coronal shear fractures of the distal humerus, are infrequent yet challenging intra-articular fractures of the elbow. There are a variety of surgical approaches and fixation methods with often variable outcomes. This systematic review investigates interventions, outcomes and complications of capitellum and trochlea fractures.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to review the literature on the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis in long bones and assess cure rates in single versus two-stage surgery.
Methods: Following the PRISMA guidelines and registered with PROSPERO (ID: CRD42021231237), this review included studies that reported on the management of chronic osteomyelitis in long bones using either a planned one-stage or two-stage surgical approach in adult patients.

Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review is to examine the outcomes, complications, and potential advantages of using anatomical interlocking intramedullary nails (IMN) in the treatment of radius and ulnar shaft diaphyseal fractures in adults.
Methods: Medline, Embase, Web of Science, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) databases were searched between January 2000 and January 2023. Studies meeting criteria were observational or randomized controlled trials evaluating outcomes in IMN for adult diaphyseal forearm fractures.
Aims: Several studies showed that Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) could affect gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) onset. The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of GDM risk factors in a cohort of women with singleton pregnancy obtained by ART and complicated by GDM. Maternal and neonatal outcomes were explored.

Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess post-operative shoulder and elbow strength after the Latarjet procedure. We hypothesized that shoulder and elbow strength are not affected after the procedure.

Our study aimed to assess the impact of lower limb fractures on BMI alterations over an 18-month period.
Methods: A multi-center, prospective cohort study was conducted between January 2021 to June 2023, involving 494 adults with lower limb fractures.
Objective: The primary aim of this study was to develop an Urdu-translated version of the Amsterdam preoperative anxiety and information scale and perform a psychometric evaluation of it. A secondary aim was to estimate the prevalence of preoperative anxiety using Urdu-translated Amsterdam preoperative anxiety and information scale in patients undergoing surgery in Karachi, Pakistan, and the factors contributing to anxiety among them.
Method: This cross-sectional survey included 267 patients enrolled for elective surgery under general anesthesia from March 5 to November 20, 2022.
Background: There is considerable variation in the rehabilitation of ankle fractures. Ankle fractures treated surgically are often immobilized or splinted in the early post-operative period, despite the lack of robust evidence supporting this intervention. Thus, this randomized controlled trial aims to investigate the anecdote that splinting reduces pain and oedema.

The current study aimed to cross-sectionally evaluate the association of dietary phytochemical index (DPI) with the odds and severity of IBS.
Methods: In this study, which included 3362 Iranian healthcare staffs, a dish-based semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (DS-FFQ) was utilized to collect dietary information.
Case: Posterior hip dislocations are classically associated with posterior acetabular wall fractures. We report the case of a 29-year-old man presented after a motorcycle accident with an unusual combination of injuries that included posterior hip dislocation, anterior column acetabulum fracture, femoral head fracture, and sciatic nerve injury. At the final follow-up, excellent outcomes were obtained with complete recovery of the sciatic nerve injury.

Methods: A Multi-center retrospective cohort analysis performed in two general hospitals and one tertiary orthopedic center with collection between 2017 and 2019. Consecutive patients with pelvic fractures between January 2017 and February 2019 were followed up at 18-24 months to screen for new-onset SD using the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5) and Female-Sexual-Function-Index-6 (FSFI-6).

Purpose: Distal radius fractures involving the volar rim are a subset of unstable and extremely distal fractures involving the volar lunate and/or scaphoid facets. Volar rim fractures (VRF) are challenging to manage and different treatment options have been described. This study aimed to compare outcomes and assess the rates of complications and implant removal for different treatment methods of wrist fractures involving VRF.

RNA polymerase III (RNAPIII) transcribes a variety of noncoding RNAs, including tRNA (tRNA) and the B2 family of short interspersed nuclear elements (SINEs). B2 SINEs are noncoding retrotransposons that possess tRNA-like promoters and are normally silenced in healthy somatic tissue. Infection with the murine gammaherpesvirus MHV68 induces transcription of both SINEs and tRNAs, in part through the activity of the viral protein kinase ORF36.

The difficulty in assessing the articular surface using radiography and the intra-articular element potentially involved make LHCF susceptible to complications and delayed diagnoses. Arthrography has been used to delineate the articular surface to aid in deciding whether closed or open reduction is necessary.
