However, their commercialization and potential applications are currently hindered greatly by photon reabsorption, where emitted waveguided light is parasitically reabsorbed by a luminophore. Nanotetrapod semiconductor materials have been theorized to be excellent luminophores for LSCs owing to their inherently large Stokes shifts.
