  • The classical acid growth theory posits that auxin promotes cell expansion by acidifying the apoplast through the action of plasma membrane-localized H-ATPase.
  • Comparative phylogenomic analysis indicates that the essential elements of this process originated in Charophyta algae and evolved with functional innovations during the transition of plants to land.
  • Despite lacking the typical auxin receptors like TIR1/AFB, the presence of auxin still resulted in significant growth and gene expression changes, suggesting an ancient growth mechanism evolved for terrestrial adaptation.

The heat generation of the human body dramatically varies between resting and active status, so dynamic heat dissipation is required to ensure optimal thermal comfort. Herein, we propose a spectrally self-adaptive smart fabric (SSSF) by covering polyester fabric with silver nanowires, which autonomously adjusts its emissivity in response to the body's movement status from dry to wet states. During periods of inactivity, the SSSF maintains radiative heat insulation with a low emissivity state of 0.

Pressure promotes the formation of starch-polyphenol complexes, but their classification and properties are still unclear. This study aimed to elucidate the effects of dynamic high-pressure homogenization (10-50 MPa) and static hydrostatic pressure (100-500 MPa) on the copolymerization behavior and properties of lotus seed starch (LS)-endogenous polyphenol chlorogenic acid (CA) complexes. The results showed that both pressures induced LS-CA to form stable inclusion-type complexes and easily destructible noninclusion-type complexes.
