Purpose: Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) commonly receive stress ulcer prophylaxis drugs, either proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or histamine-2 receptor blockers (H2RBs). The goal of this research was to evaluate the impact of these drugs on mortality among ICU patients hospitalized for major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs).
Methods: ICU patients hospitalized for MACCEs were sourced from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-III database.

Objectives: To evaluate first-trimester ultrasound imaging of eccentric implantation in predicting the probability of retained placenta.
Methods: A total of 61 cases with gestational sac eccentrically implanted in first-trimester ultrasound imaging was selected. Demographic and obstetric data were collected through data extraction of the electronic medical record at the time of delivery admission.
Our previous studies demonstrated that tetrachlorobenzoquinone (TCBQ) is toxic to neuron-like cells, which is related to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced apoptosis. However, it remains unclear whether TCBQ causes the opening of cellular defense responses. Here we found that activation of nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-like 2 (Nrf2) triggered an adaptive response against the neurotoxicity induced by TCBQ through the upregulation of intracellular glutathione (GSH) levels in rat pheochromocytoma PC12 cells.
