As a kind of glycoside, pentacyclic triterpenoid saponins have good biological activities, such as anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral and hypoglycemic effects [1]. In this paper, twenty-four pentacyclic triterpenoid derivatives, including twelve monosaccharide derivatives, were designed and synthesized. The anticancer effect and antibacterial activities of all compounds were evaluated.

Two new stilbene glucosides, -3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxystilbene 3--D-glucopyranoside (), -3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxystilbene 3--D-glucopyranoside (), one new benzoic acid derivative, -4-hydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-2-butenyl benzoate 4--D-glucopyranoside (), and four known compounds () were isolated from L. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectral data.
