Background: Iodinated contrast media (ICM) allergy labels pose a unique clinical problem for the interventional pain physician due to the drawbacks of gadolinium for enhancement during pain procedures, as well as the reluctance to add to the cumulative steroid burden with steroid premedication. However, the risks of ICM hypersensitivity specific to this setting have not been previously described.
Methods: We aimed to describe the incidence of ICM-induced hypersensitivity during the performance of epidural injections in a large healthcare system.
Purpose: To address whether differential regulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system occurs in pre-eclampsia, we performed an analysis of the time course of circulating and urinary profiles of the vasoconstrictor (Ang II) and the vasodilator [Ang-(1-7)] peptides in normal pregnant (NP) and pre-eclamptic (PE) women.
Methods: Urine and plasma samples from 86 nulliparous women were collected prospectively; 67 subjects continued as NP and 19 developed PE. Subjects were enrolled prior to 12 weeks of gestation and plasma and spot urine samples were obtained throughout gestation.

The purpose of this double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial was to evaluate a novel compounded topical gel for this problem.
Methods: Patients with CIPN were randomized to baclofen 10 mg, amitriptyline HCL 40 mg, and ketamine 20 mg in a pluronic lecithin organogel (BAK-PLO) versus placebo (PLO) to determine its effect on numbness, tingling, pain, and function.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe a case of nonclassic retinitis pigmentosa, to highlight ancillary testing tools for proper diagnosis, and to differentiate between common hereditary fundus dystrophies.
Methods: Methods used in this study included complete ophthalmologic evaluation, optical coherence tomography, visual field testing, pedigree analysis, and electrodiagnostic testing.

Objective: Determine if the relation between supplemental vitamin E intake and CVD and all-cause mortality (ACM) depends on pre-existing CVD.
Auto-SCT has been shown to be a potentially curative treatment for a variety of hematological malignancies. Auto-SCT is dependent on the successful mobilization and collection of hematopoietic stem cells to ensure engraftment. The inability to mobilize sufficient number of hematopoietic stem cells using standard cytokine-assisted mobilization strategies excludes eligible patients from potentially curative auto-SCT.
