Background: Midwifery practice is multidimensional and complex in supporting women's reproductive health. Midwives provide care through pregnancy, birth, and the puerperium and may extend to sexual and reproductive health. Midwifery education must develop self-confidence and competence within each midwifery student.

Impact of Point of Care Quality Improvement Training and Coaching on Quality Perceptions of Health Care Workers: Implication for Quality Policy.

Background: The quality of infant healthcare service is one of the essential factors in preventing infant mortality. The purpose of the study was to analyze the quality performance in primary healthcare centers (PHC) and hospitals before and after the point of care quality improvement (POCQI) training for Infant Healthcare Services (IHS).

Methods: This is a mixed-method study design with convergence triangulation strategy, conducted at six public PHCs and four hospitals in two districts of West Java Province, Indonesia.

The previous studies about association of vitamin D and neurodevelopmental status in the first 1000 days of life showed inconsistent results. This study aimed to investigate correlation between vitamin D deficiency and neurodevelopmental in 2 years old infants. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Sukabumi and Waled, West Java involving 2 years old infants born from the mothers participated in previous cohort.

First Trimester Ferritin Is Superior over Soluble Transferrin Receptor and Hepcidin in Predicting Anemia in the Third Trimester: Result from a Cohort Study in Indonesia.

Introduction: Anemia in the third trimester has been identified as a risk factor for maternal and fetal morbidity that might lead to mortality. Due to its high cost, finding the best marker to predict anemia became more important to allow early prevention. Only one of ferritin, hepcidin, or soluble transferrin receptors can be picked for the prediction of anemia in the third trimester especially in low-resource setting.

Studies had shown that iron-cycling was disturbed by inflammatory process through the role of hepcidin. Pregnancy is characterized by shifts of interleukin. Our objective was to determine if 25(OH) vitamin D (colecalciferol) status was associated with ferritin, anemia, and its changes during pregnancy.
