Article Synopsis
  • Serratia marcescens Nuclease A (SmNucA) is commonly used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing to remove nucleotide impurities, but its effectiveness drops significantly in high-salt environments (up to 500 mM).
  • Researchers developed a variant called HighSalt NucA, which has four Lys mutations to enhance its ability to bind nucleic acids under these salty conditions, also revealing a new catalytic mechanism.
  • Additional experiments showed that other mutations (involving Arg and various hydrophobic or polar residues) also contribute to salt tolerance, allowing HighSalt NucA to maintain its activity and broaden its application potential in nucleic acid removal processes.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common form of arthritis in elders which can lead to reduced daily activity and quality of life. It is important to administer a proper treatment with high efficacy and low side effects. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of co-treatment with oral duloxetine and intraarticular (IA) injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) and corticosteroid (CS) in patients with knee OA.

Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) inhibitors can reduce the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients by preventing the rapid decomposition of incretin hormone and prolonging its physiological effects. In this study, DPP-IV inhibitory peptides FAGDDAPR and LAPPRGSL were isolated from defatted Antarctic krill powder (DAKP) protein by the sequential purification of ultrafiltration, gel filtration chromatography, and RP-HPLC, and IC values of the two peptides were 349.70 ± 3.

To analyze the degree and pattern of influence of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) on the Bosniak classification system for complex renal cystic mass as compared with conventional ultrasonography (US). One hundred two consecutive patients with complex renal cystic masses were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnostic performance of the Conventional US and CEUS were evaluated separately for malignant and benign lesions.
