Methods: We retrospective reviewed the prospectively maintained Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC) registry for patients undergoing intervention for cT1RMs from 05/2017 to 09/2023.

Glaucoma is a sight threatening neurodegenerative condition of the optic nerve head associated with ageing and marked by the loss of retinal ganglion cells. Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of neurodegeneration in the most prevalent type of glaucoma: primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). All previous mitochondrial genome sequencing studies in POAG analyzed mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) isolated from peripheral blood leukocytes and have not evaluated cells derived from ocular tissue, which better represent the glaucomatous disease context.

Circular dichroism second harmonic generation microscopy (CDSHG) is a powerful imaging technique, which allows three-dimensional visualization of collagen fibril orientation in tissues. However, recent publications have obtained contradictory results on whether CDSHG can be used to reveal the relative out-of-plane polarity of collagen fibrils. Here we compare CDSHG images of unstained tendon and tendon which has been stained with hematoxylin and eosin.

The Additive Manufacturing Benchmark Series (AM Bench) is a NIST-led organization that provides a continuing series of additive manufacturing benchmark measurements, challenge problems, and conferences with the primary goal of enabling modelers to test their simulations against rigorous, highly controlled additive manufacturing benchmark measurement data. To this end, single-track (1D) and pad (2D) scans on bare plate nickel alloy 718 were completed with thermography, cross-sectional grain orientation and local chemical composition maps, and cross-sectional melt pool size measurements. The laser power, scan speed, and laser spot size were varied for single tracks, and the scan direction was varied for pads.

Evaluating Dual Process Decision-Making Along the PrEP Consumer Journey: New Insights for Supporting PrEP Use.

With the rise of new and emerging Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) modalities, greater attention is needed to better understand how people who could benefit from PrEP make decisions to initiate, stop, pause, or switch PrEP regimens. In this study we borrow from the field of consumer research to create a consumer-derived PrEP Consumer Journey Model that describes key decision-making touchpoints a PrEP consumer moves through within and outside of a clinical context. Using in-depth interviews (n = 29) with gay and bisexual men who have sex with men, we evaluate which system 1 (emotional) and system 2 (cognitive) attributes are used for decision-making at different touchpoints along the PrEP Consumer Journey.

Background: Cognitive decline among people living with HIV (PLWH) is growing concern as world populations become increasing older including higher proportions of PLWH. It is vitally important to understand psychosocial predictors of age-related cognitive decline men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV.

Objectives: The current study seeks to examine psychosocial risk factors the contribute to the risk of age-related cognitive impairment as measured by Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Aging, and Incidence of Dementia (CAIDE) score in a racially diverse sample of MSM living with HIV.

Background: Patients in intensive care units (ICU) are at an increased risk of pressure injuries. In ICUs, specialised support surfaces are an intervention often used to prevent pressure injuries. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to ascertain the effectiveness of different specialised support surface modes for preventing pressure injuries to adult ICU patients.

Prehospital Ground and Helicopter-Based Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) Reduce Barriers to ECPR: A GIS Model.

Introduction: Evidence suggests that Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) can improve survival rates for nontraumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). However, when ECPR is indicated over 50% of potential candidates are unable to qualify in the current hospital-based system due to geographic limitations. This study employs a Geographic Information System (GIS) model to estimate the number of ECPR eligible patients within the United States in the current hospital-based system, a prehospital ECPR ground-based system, and a prehospital ECPR Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS)-based system.
