: Rising costs and demands for improved quality of care present complex challenges for existing healthcare systems. The strain on healthcare resources is exacerbated by the increasing complexity of patient conditions. The Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) system classifies inpatients according to clinical and treatment criteria, controls healthcare expenditures, and ensures the sustainability of procedures.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The rising cost of healthcare is a concerning issue for healthcare systems. The Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) system lacks direct consideration for costs related to nursing care. Therefore, to date there is no clear picture of billing models that consider also nursing activity when evaluating healthcare service costs or what factors related to nursing care affect the costs of healthcare services and would therefore need to be considered in billing models.

This study aims to explore the phenomenon of hidden nursing activities (HNAs) in these settings, hypothesizing that features and activities performed in these settings are heterogeneous across the country and widely underreported or attributed to other professionals than nurses. HNAs are hypothesized to be associated with a poor work environment climate and nurses' low job satisfaction.

MNC has significant negative consequences, including adverse patient outcomes, safety risks, and decreased job satisfaction. While extensively studied in hospitals, MNC in community healthcare settings, remains under-researched, especially in Italy.

The results were evaluated individually and comparatively using the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society's Lesser Metatarsophalangeal-Interphalangeal Scale (AOFAS), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain assessment, and radiographic measurements of the intermetatarsal angle IV-V (AIM4-5) and metatarsophalangeal angle of the fifth ray (AMF-5). This was a retrospective study conducted from May 2011 to February 2022.

To date, there are no effective therapies to counteract AMD towards the most severe stages characterised by a progressive loss of photoreceptors triggered by retinal pigmented epithelium dysfunction. Given their easy source and their high proliferative potential, Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSCs) are considered promising for regenerative medicine.

Available quantitative research has highlighted factors influencing academic success, although most of these factors are not effectively manageable with intervention strategies.
Aim: The purpose of the study was to describe the lived experiences and their meanings of Bachelor nursing graduates who successfully completed the program.
Objective: To develop and validate a questionnaire to evaluate missed nursing care (MNC) in a home care setting.
Design: A new instrument was developed and tested performing a preliminary analysis of a multicenter cross-sectional study in Italy. Reporting was performed according to COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health status Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) guidelines.
The aim of this study was to adapt the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) to the home care setting and translate and validate it in Italian. An online questionnaire containing the Italian version of the NASA-TLX adapted to the home care setting was administered to home care nurses to measure workload. Content Validity Index, Exploratory, and Confirmatory Factor Analyses were used to measure the psychometric characteristics of the modified NASA-TLX.

Introduction: Considering their fragmented and heterogeneous nature, a summary of community healthcare services described in European literature is needed. The aim of this study was to summarize their organizational models, outcomes, nursing contribution to care, and nursing-related determinants of outcomes.
The phase of signals representing cyclic behavioural patterns provides valuable information for understanding the mechanisms driving the observed behaviours. Methods usually adopted to estimate the phase, which are based on projecting the signal onto the complex plane, have strict requirements on its frequency content, which limits their application. To overcome these limitations, input signals can be processed using band-pass filters or decomposition techniques.

Objectives: To describe the characteristics of nurses and care recipients involved in home care.
Aims: To describe how workplace violence (WPV) is experienced by nurses in hospitals and community services and identify protective and risk factors.
Methods: An online cross-sectional national study was conducted from January to April 2021 in Italy. Hospitals and community services were involved in the study.
Tendon diseases pose a significant challenge in regenerative medicine due to the limited healing capacity of this tissue. Successful tendon regeneration requires a combination of angiogenesis, immune response, and tenogenesis processes. An effective tendon engineering (TE) strategy must finely tune this systems' interplay toward homeostasis.

Objectives: To synthesize evidence related to the impact of telemonitoring strategies on mortality and hospital readmissions of heart failure patients.
We present the design and absolute calibration of a charged particle online readout CMOS system tailored for high-power laser experiments. This system equips a Thomson parabola spectrometer, which is used at the Apollon petawatt scale laser facility to measure the spectra of protons produced by high-intensity laser-target interactions. The RadEye1 CMOS matrices array detectors are paired with a custom triggering system for image grabbing.

In this study, we analyzed the lipidic composition of human Dental Pulp-Derived Stem Cells (DPSCs), and the role of lipid rafts during the multilineage differentiation process. The relative quantification of lipid metabolites in the organic fraction of DPSCs, performed by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, showed that mono-unsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) were the most representative species in the total pool of acyl chains, compared to polyunsatured fatty acids (PUFAs).

Dental-derived MSCs (DSCs) are more easily accessible and have a non-invasive isolation method rather than MSCs isolated from other sources (umbilical cord, bone marrow, and adipose tissue). In addition, DSCs appear to have a relevant neuro-regenerative potential due to their neural crest origin.

It is important to address this gap and seek an effective way to address increased accuracy around nursing diagnoses identification. Nursing diagnoses are judgments that represent a synthesis of data collected by the nurse and used to guide interventions and to achieve desirable patients' outcomes.

Most of the drugs developed to fight neurodegeneration are aimed to alleviate symptoms, but none has proven adequate in altering the course of the pathologies. Cell therapy has emerged as an intriguing alternative to the classical pharmacological approach.

Restoring educational activities as delivered in the pre-pandemic era without making a critical evaluation of the transformations implemented, may sacrifice the extraordinary learning opportunity that this event has offered. The aim of this study was to identify a set of recommendations that can guide the Italian nursing education to move forward in the post-pandemic era.
