Purpose: Splenic metastases (SM) from breast cancer (SMBC) are exceedingly rare. To date, the relevant literature is primarily based on pan-tumour species, with only a few studies exploring SM specifically in relation to breast cancer. As such, the present retrospective study explored the clinicopathological characteristics and prognoses of patients with SMBC at the breast care centre of the authors' hospital.

Landfill leachate nanofiltration concentrates (LLNC) contain complex organic pollutants that are difficult to treat. This study developed a copper-doped attapulgite-chitosan composite catalyst (Cu@ATP-CTS) for efficient LLNC degradation in a Fenton-like system. The incorporation of attapulgite extended the effective pH range of Fenton reactions from 2 to 8, overcoming traditional limitations.

Segetalin B (SB) has shown promise in mitigating osteoporosis in ovariectomized (OVX) mice, though its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how SB promotes bone formation through Phospholipase D1 (PLD1) activation in OVX models. In vitro, bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) from OVX mice were cultured for osteogenic differentiation.

Background: Laparoscopic anatomical liver resection has become more challenging because some subsegmental Glissonean pedicles are hard to dissect. Here, we introduce how to dissect every (sub) segmental Glissonean pedicle from the first porta hepatis and perform standardized (sub) segmentectomy [from segment 1 (S1) to S8].

Aim: To summarize our methods of laparoscopic anatomical segmental and subsegmental liver resection.

In this study, physicochemical and structural properties of gelatin-zein blending films and bilayer films prepared through blending and layer-by-layer self-assembly method under TGase crosslinking were systematically compared. The ratios of gelatin to zein examined were 2:1, 1:1, and 1:2. Results showed that the tensile strength of both blending films and bilayer films was the highest when the ratio of gelatin to zein was 2:1, which was 4.

This study investigates a novel antimicrobial peptide AtR905 derived from the endophytic fungus , which was successfully expressed in , purified, and characterized, and highlighted as a promising potential biocontrol agent against various plant pathogens. The results indicated AtR905 exhibited broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities against key pathogens such as and with very low minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs). Stability tests confirmed that AtR905 retains its antimicrobial properties under varying thermal, pH, and UV conditions.

The chemical constituents of Dracocephalum tanguticum were investigated using normal-and reverse-phase silica gel column chromatography, RP-HPLC, and other separation techniques, combined with experimental methods such as NMR, UV, IR, MS, and ORD, as well as comparison with reported literature data. From the ethanol extract of D. tanguticum, 10 compounds were isolated and identified: dracotangusion C(1),(1R,4S,5S,10R)-(+)-germacrone-1(10)-4-diepoxide(2), 1β,4β,5β-trihydroxy-7(11),9-germacradien-8-one(3), curcumadione(4), β-sitosterol(5), lilacoside(6), diosmetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7), diosmin(8), luteolin-7-O-glucoside(9), and luteolin(10).

Background: Colon cancer (CC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Accurate prognostic markers are essential for patient risk stratification and personalized treatment. Copper-induced cell-death-related genes (CRG) have emerged as potential players in cancer prognosis, yet their role in CC remains unclear.

The task of named entity recognition (NER) plays a crucial role in extracting cybersecurity-related information. Existing approaches for cybersecurity entity extraction predominantly rely on manual labelling data, resulting in labour-intensive processes due to the lack of a cybersecurity-specific corpus. In this paper, we propose an improved self-training-based distant label denoising method for cybersecurity entity extraction.

HBV-infected individuals are also presenting with MASLD. However, the value of VCTE for detecting hepatic fibrosis and steatosis in CHB patients concurrent with MASLD is unclear. In patients with combined CHB and MASLD, we intend to assess the diagnostic efficacy of VCTE in determining the extent of fibrosis and steatosis.

Introduction: Tissue repair can be promoted by moderate inflammation but suppressed by excessive levels. Therefore, control of excessive inflammation following removal of infection plays a critical role in promotion of pulpal repair. Connexin 43 (Cx43) forms hemichannels (HCs) or gap channels (GJs) to facilitate the delivery of small molecules between cells to regulate both inflammation and repair.

Interference with glycolysis metabolism not only promotes the efficient sensitization of cuproptosis, but also amplifies cytotoxic T cell functions and proliferations, thus contributing to relieve immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. However, the synergistic mechanism and the design of multicomponent nanoformulations involving these three pathways have not yet been explored. a copper-coordinated nanoassembly (designated as Cu-GM) is reported here that integrates a lactate dehydrogenase inhibitor, galloflavin (GF), with an immune checkpoint inhibitor, myricetin (MY), to boost cancer cuproptosis-immunotherapy.

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as tungsten diselenide (WSe), are expected to be used in next-generation optoelectronic devices due to their unique properties. In this study, we developed a simple method of using ethanol to scroll monolayer WSe nanosheets into nanoscrolls. These nanoscrolls have a quasi-one-dimensional structure, which enhances their electronic and optical properties.

Diabetic ulcers are chronic wounds that are notoriously difficult to treat, leading to significant physical and psychological distress and increased healthcare costs. Their multifactorial aetiology necessitates long-term interdisciplinary collaboration and various complementary treatment measures. While numerous studies suggest that electrical stimulation (ES) positively impacts diabetic ulcer healing, the robustness and consistency of these findings require further evaluation to optimize clinical application.

Thyroid cancer includes papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC). While PTC has an excellent prognosis, ATC has a dismal prognosis, necessitating the identification of novel targets in ATC to aid in ATC diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, we analyzed ATC single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and bulk RNA sequencing (bulk RNA-seq) data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), retrieved immune-related genes from the ImmPort database, and identified differentially expressed immune genes within single-cell subgroups.

Introduction: The adoptive cell transfer of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) has proven clinically beneficial in patients with non-small cell lung cancer refractory to checkpoint blockade immunotherapy, which has prompted interest in TIL-adoptive cell transfer. The transgenic expression of IL15 can promote the expansion, survival, and function of T cells and and enhance their anti-tumor activity. The effect of expressing mIL15 regulated by hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment on the expansion, survival, and stem-like properties of TILs has not been explored.
