Background: The adherence of clinicians to clinical practice guidelines is known to be low, including for the management of COVID-19, due to their difficult use at the point of care and their complexity. Clinical decision support systems have been proposed to implement guidelines and improve adherence. One approach is to permit the navigation inside the recommendations, presented as a decision tree, but the size of the tree often limits this approach and may cause erroneous navigation, especially when it does not fit in a single screen.

Medication review is a collaborative process between pharmacists and general practitioners (GPs) aimed at optimizing patient care by identifying and eliminating harmful medications. This paper proposes a collaborative platform to enhance pharmacist-GP interactions, assess drug-drug interactions, evaluate adverse effects, and manage dosages. The platform uses the issue mapping function of IBIS to structure dialogues and systematically evaluates proposed actions using the QuAD framework to support decision-making.

Methods: We conducted a case-control exploratory study of 15 visits over 12 weeks in the non-affected hand of a 4-finger sequence of 8 key presses in eight patients with FHD compared with eight age- and sex-matched, healthy volunteers (HVs). We studied the behavioral data and the physiological changes of the brain, including motor cortical excitability and cortical oscillations.
Mitral regurgitation (MR) is associated with morphological and functional alterations of left atrium (LA) and ventricle (LV), possibly inducing LA-LV misalignment. We aimed to: (1) characterize angulation between LA and mitral annulus from conventional cine MRI data and feature-tracking (FT) contours, (2) assess their associations with functional capacity in MR patients, as assessed by oxygen consumption (peak-VO) and minute ventilation to carbon dioxide production (VE/VCO) slope, in comparison with MRI LA/LV strain indices. Thirty-two asymptomatic primary MR patients (56 [40; 66] years, 12 women) underwent cardiac MRI resulting in LA/LV conventional FT-derived strain indices.

The task of managing diverse electronic health records requires the consolidation of data from different sources to facilitate clinical research and decision-making support, with the emergence of the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership - Common Data Model (OMOP-CDM) as a standard relational database schema for structuring health records from different sources. Working with ontologies is strongly associated with reasoners. Implementing them over expansive and intricate Ontologies can pose computational challenges, potentially resulting in slow performance.

The hydraulic force (HyF) is related to variation in size between LV and LA. The objectives of this study were to: (1) derive an estimate of left atrioventricular HyF using cine- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in healthy subjects with a wide age range, and (2) study its relationship with age and conventional diastolic function parameters, as estimated by reference echocardiography.

We combined in vivo (n = 6) with ex vivo data from cadavers (n = 8) and organ donors (n = 13), ages 18 to 89, to assess whether aging of the PPA associates with changes in distensibility, biaxial wall strain, wall thickness, vessel diameter, and wall composition. Aging exhibited significant negative associations with distensibility and cyclic biaxial strain of the PPA (p ≤ 0.

We developed an automated valve-tracking 2D method for measuring flow through the dynamic tricuspid valve.
Methods: Nine healthy subjects and 2 patients were imaged.
Cell therapies such as genetically modified T cells have emerged as a promising and viable treatment for hematologic cancers and are being aggressively pursued for a wide range of diseases and conditions that were previously difficult to treat or had no cure. The process development requires genetic modifications to T cells to express a receptor (engineered T cell receptor (eTCR)) of specific binding qualities to the desired target. Protein reagents utilized during the cell therapy manufacturing process, to facilitate these genetic modifications, are often present as process-related impurities at residual levels in the final drug product and can represent a potential immunogenicity risk upon infusion.

Materials and Methods Cardiac MRI with a 4D flow sequence and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), as well as echocardiography, was performed in 88 individuals: 44 participants with HCM from a French prospective registry (ClinicalTrials.gov; NCT01091480) and 44 healthy volunteers matched for age and sex.

We aimed to develop an MRI method for simultaneous all-in-one diastolic function evaluation in a single scan by generating a 2D phase-contrast (PC) sequence with balanced steady-state free precession (bSSFP) contrast (PC-SSFP). E and A could then be measured with PC, and e' estimated by valve tracking on the magnitude images, using an established deep learning framework.

A relationship between left atrial strain and pressure has been demonstrated in many studies, but not in an atrial fibrillation (AF) cohort. In this work, we hypothesized that elevated left atrial (LA) tissue fibrosis might mediate and confound the LA strain vs. pressure relationship, resulting instead in a relationship between LA fibrosis and stiffness index (mean LA pressure/LA reservoir strain).

In this study, we aimed to characterize the relation of white matter integrity of both parts of the SLF (SLF I and SLF II) to both motor outcome and recovery and its evolution over time in stroke patients with upper limb motor deficits.
Materials And Methods: Fractional anisotropy (FA) values over the SLF I, SLF II, and corticospinal tract (CST) and upper limb motor performance evaluated by both the upper limb Fugl-Meyer Assessment score and maximum grip strength were measured for 16 patients at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks poststroke.
Background: Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan-dioxygenase (TDO) are enzymes catabolizing the essential amino acid tryptophan into kynurenine. Expression of these enzymes is frequently observed in advanced-stage cancers and is associated with poor disease prognosis and immune suppression. Mechanistically, the respective roles of tryptophan shortage and kynurenine production in suppressing immunity remain unclear.

Taking several medications at the same time is an increasingly common phenomenon in our society. The combination of drugs is certainly not without risk of potentially dangerous interactions. Taking into account all possible interactions is a very complex task as it is not yet known what all possible interactions between drugs and their types are.

Materials And Methods: Patients with ARVC ( = 47; median age, 46 [IQR, 30-52] years; 31 men) were compared with controls ( = 39; median age, 46 [IQR, 33-53] years; 23 men) and separated into two groups based on fulfillment of major structural 2020 International criteria. Cine data from 1.
Background: Balanced steady-state free precession (bSSFP) is important in cardiac MRI but suffers from off-resonance artifacts. The interpretation-limiting artifacts in patients with cardiac implants remain an unsolved issue.
Purpose: To develop an interleaved radial linear combination bSSFP (lcSSFP) method with partial dephasing (PD) for improved cardiac cine imaging when implanted cardiovascular devices are present.
Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the performance of a biomarker-based machine learning (ML) model (not including vital signs) derived from reviewed rapid response team (RRT) activations in predicting all-cause deterioration in general wards patients.
Design: This is a retrospective single-institution study. All consecutive adult patients' cases on noncritical wards identified by RRT calls occurring at least 24 hours after patient admission, between April 2018 and June 2020, were included.
