Modifications to this procedure include gastropancreaticoduodenectomy, which includes the removal of parts of the pancreas, duodenum, and stomach. Complications of surgery include fistula formation, failure of the anastomosis, and leak of pancreatic enzymes, which can be reduced by stenting the pancreatic duct.
