Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to analyze how Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH) affects the Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) in children aged 8 to 10, while also examining its relationship with their experience of cavities.
  • Researchers compared 102 children, with 51 having MIH and 51 serving as a control group, using various dental indices to assess caries experience and OHRQoL.
  • Results showed no significant difference in OHRQoL between the two groups, but those with severe MIH experienced a noticeable drop in quality of life due to issues like hypersensitivity and enamel breakdown.

Background: Pulpotomy as a minimally invasive pulp therapy technique is the treatment of choice for carious pulp exposures, however many pediatric dentists perform pulpectomies in vital primary incisors. The aim of this split mouth randomized controlled study was to compare formocresol pulpotomy and zinc-oxide and eugenol pulpectomy in the treatment of vital pulp exposure in primary incisors.

Methods: Contralateral pairs of incisors were randomly assigned to receive pulpotomy or pulpectomy in children aging from 18 to 66 months old and were followed up for 12 months.
