Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) exhibits high mortality rates in the advanced stage (>90 %). Sorafenib (SORA) is a targeted therapy approved for the treatment of advanced HCC; however, the reported response rate to such a therapeutic is suboptimal (<3%). Piperine (PIP) is an alkaloid demonstrated to exert a direct tumoricidal activity in HCC and improve the pharmacokinetic profiles of anticancer drugs including SORA.

The role of two-pore channel 2 (TPC2) in the development and progression of melanoma remains poorly understood. This study aims to investigate the impact of TPC2 knockout (KO) on melanoma-derived tumors, focusing on tumour growth and related toxicity in the organism.

Synthesis, Characterization, and Anticancer Activity of Phosphanegold(i) Complexes of 3-Thiosemicarbano-butan-2-one Oxime.

Four novel phosphanegold(I) complexes of the type [Au(PR)(DMT)].PF (-) were synthesized from 3-Thiosemicarbano-butan-2-one oxime ligand (TBO) and precursors [Au(PR)Cl], (where R = methyl (), ethyl (), tert-butyl (), and phenyl ()). The resulting complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and melting point as well as various spectroscopic techniques, including FTIR and (H, C, and P) NMR spectroscopy.
