Classification of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as ABCD according to the GOLD 2011 and 2017 versions in patients at the University Medical Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In 2017, the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) substantially changed its ABCD group categorization. Although several studies had been conducted to assess the impact of the new GOLD category, there was no research on the change in the GOLD classification in Vietnam. This retrospective analysis was conducted at the Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinic at the University Medical Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
