White yam ( L.) is widely cultivated, and is a staple food in the Republic of Benin. However, its production is highly sensitive to soil infertility, leading to low yields over the years.

Modeling farmer behavior in adopting agroecological practices using AI tools in shea butter agroforestry systems.

This study examines the performance of machine learning algorithms for identifying importance features for agroecological practices adoption in shea agroforestry systems. Primary data were collected from 272 representative and randomly selected farmers in two regions of northern Benin. Four machine learning algorithms (Naïve Bayes, Neural Network, Support Vector Machine and Bagging Decision Trees) were compared using four statistical performance metrics: accuracy, balanced accuracy, recall, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), as well as calibration plots.

A combined chloroplast atpB-rbcL and trnL-F phylogeny unveils the ancestry of balsams (Impatiens spp.) in the Western Ghats of India.

Only a few Impatiens spp. from South India (one of the five centers of diversity for Impatiens species) were included in the published datum of molecular phylogeny of the family Balsaminaceae. The present investigation is a novel attempt to reveal the phylogenetic association of Impatiens species of South India, by placing them in the global phylogeny of Impatiens based on a combined analysis of two chloroplast genes.
