Atherosclerosis is a complex non-monogenic disease related to endothelial damage in elastic-type arteries and incorrect feeding. Here, using cryodamage of endothelial cells (ECs) of rat abdominal aorta, we examined the role of the EC basement membrane (BM) for re-endothelization endothelial regeneration and its ability to capture low density lipoproteins (LDLs). Regeneration of endothelium induced thickening of the ECBM.

The population awareness about merits of mandatory medical insurance (MMI) continues to be inadequate. The study purpose was to investigate opinion of Moscow Oblast residents about MMI system. The sociological survey was carried out according standard technique using specially developed genuine questionnaire.

The article considers the results of sociological survey of medical personnel of the Moscow oblast. The purpose of study is to analyze attitude of medical personnel to the system of mandatory medical insurance in modern conditions. The sociological survey carried out according standard methodology using originally developed questionnaire.

[Forensic medical criteria for the evaluation of the unfavourable outcomes of the roentgeno-endovascular operations on the arteries of the lower extremities].

The objective of the present work was to develop the forensic medical criteria for the evaluation of the unfavourable outcomes of the roentgeno-endovascular operations (REVO) on the arteries of the lower extremities. The study included the analysis of the conclusions based on the results of the commission forensic medical examinations, attorney inquiry reports, query response, medical histories of the hospitalized patients who had undergone the roentgeno-endovascular operations on the arteries of the lower extremities. The criteria for the forensic medical evaluation of the unfavourable outcomes of the roentgeno-vascular operations on the arteries of the lower extremities have been proposed together with the indications for REVO, methods and tools for the performance of these surgical procedures.

Background: Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is one of the most popular substances used to reduce various risks associated with cardiovascular disease. However, little is known on the direct effects of garlic on atherosclerosis.

[The mandatory medical insurance through eyes of medical personnel].

The article considers the results of sociological survey carries out among medical personnel of the Moscowskaya oblast in August-September 2013. The purpose of the study was to examine opinions of medical personnel about system of mandatory insurance in conditions of implementation of the new law regulating system of mandatory medical insurance during last three years. The sampling included 932 respondents that corresponds approximately 1% of all medical personnel in the oblast.

[The role of hyperlipidemia in the pathogenesis of acute thrombophlebitis of the surface veins of the lower extremities].

Biochemical investigations carried out in patients with acute thrombophlebitis of the lower limb superficial veins showed that 70% of such patients develop marked changes in blood plasma lipid spectrum, hyperlipidemia. Blood serum lipid spectrum was examined in 19 patients with various forms of acute thrombophlebitis of the lower limb superficial veins and in 17 with varicose disease. Histologic material for morphologic examination (a fragment of the great subcutaneous vein near saphenofemoral anastomosis and of the wall near the thrombus) was collected during surgery.
