However, as recent treatment options and an increasing rate of diagnoses are made worldwide, awareness is growing. - Of the 5,927 patients analyzed, those with locally advanced HPV positive disease showed better OS compared to those with HPV negative disease, while early stage patients had similar OS regardless of HPV status.
- Radiation dose positively impacted OS for locally advanced HPV negative patients, showing significant benefits with doses up to 55-60 Gy, but not for HPV positive cases or for doses exceeding 60 Gy.
