Disseminated Tuberculosis Masquerading as a Uterine Cervical Mass in an Immunocompetent Young Female: A Case Report.

Concurrent tubercular involvement of two or more non-contiguous organs is termed disseminated tuberculosis (TB) and is rare in immunocompetent patients. We describe the case of a young immunocompetent woman with disseminated TB who presented with primary complaints of amenorrhea and dysuria. Abdominal ultrasound showed a uterine cervical mass, which on histopathological evaluation revealed epithelioid granulomata with Langhans giant cells and acid-fast bacilli (AFB).

We present the case of a 59-year-old man from South India who presented with shortness of breath, abdominal distention, and decreased appetite. Initial laboratory investigations and imaging, including radiolabeled somatostatin positron emission tomography-computed tomography, were suggestive of neuroendocrine tumor (NET). However, following extensive workup and multiple biopsies over several weeks, the diagnosis was revised to extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB).

Determinants of Aedes mosquito larval ecology in a heterogeneous urban environment- a longitudinal study in Bengaluru, India.

Background: Aedes-borne disease risk is associated with contemporary urbanization practices where city developing structures function as a catalyst for creating mosquito breeding habitats. We lack better understanding on how the links between landscape ecology and urban geography contribute to the prevalence and abundance of mosquito and pathogen spread.

Objective: Patients experiencing an intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) on oral anticoagulants often require rapid reversal. This study evaluated patients taking factor Xa inhibitors or warfarin that received reversal with 4-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (4F-PCC) for an ICH. The objective of the study was to determine if the efficacy of 4F-PCC for the reversal of factor Xa inhibitors is noninferior to its use in warfarin reversal in patients with ICH.

High performance flexible supercapacitors based on secondary doped PEDOT-PSS-graphene nanocomposite films for large area solid state devices.

In this work, we propose the development of high performance and flexible supercapacitors using reduced graphene oxide (rGO) incorporated poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT-PSS) nanocomposites by secondary doping. The structural and morphological features of the composite film were analyzed in detail using SEM, AFM, FTIR, XPS and TGA. Secondary doping of ethylene glycol (EG) assisted by rGO incorporation significantly enhances the room temperature conductivity of PEDOT-PSS films from 3 S cm to nearly 1225 S cm for a 10 wt% composite.
