A comparative study of whole brain radiotherapy with concomitant thalidomide versus whole brain radiotherapy alone in brain metastases.

Background: Brain metastasis increases morbidity and mortality in cancer patients. This study was undertaken to compare tumor response and treatment-related toxicities in patients treated with orally administered thalidomide concomitantly with whole brain radiotherapy to whole brain radiotherapy alone in brain metastases.

Methods: This randomized control trial was conducted in radiation oncology department, RIMS among 42 patients of brain metastases distributed in two study arms during the period August 2018 to July 2020.

Clinico-Epidemiologic Patterns of Laryngeal Cancer: 5-year Results from a Regional Cancer Centre in Northeastern India.

Purpose: To determine the risk factors, clinical symptoms and patterns of spread in laryngeal cancer.

Materials And Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out in the Regional Cancer Centre, Imphal, Manipur, India. One hundred and sixteen patients with laryngeal cancer were retrospectively reviewed for epidemiological data and descriptive statistics were reported for various variables.

Intra-abdominal desmoplastic small cell tumour--a case report.

Intra-abdominal desmoplastic small cell tumour is a rare malignant neoplasm of childhood. We report a case of this uncommon tumour in a 14-year-old boy. The tumour originated from transverse mesocolon.
