Demand for mental health treatment surged after the COVID-19 pandemic intensified existing issues of limited access to care and long wait times. The problem of performing model-based process design and optimization in the pharmaceutical industry is an important and challenging one both computationally and in choice of solution implementation. In this work, a framework is presented to directly utilize a process simulator via callbacks during derivative-based optimization. The framework allows users with little experience in translating mechanistic ODEs and PDEs to robust, fully discretized algebraic formulations, required for executing simultaneous equation-oriented optimization, to obtain mathematically guaranteed optima at a competitive solution time when compared with existing derivative-free and derivative-based frameworks.

Mutation to the gene encoding dystrophin can cause Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and increase the sensitivity to stress in vertebrate species, including the mdx mouse model of DMD. Behavioral stressors can exacerbate some dystrophinopathy phenotypes of mdx skeletal muscle and cause hypotension-induced death. Introduction: At our institution, an increased incidence of hypersensitivity reactions was reported following standardization of fosaprepitant as the preferred agent for the prophylaxis of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) caused by highly emetogenic therapies. The purpose of this evaluation was to assess the incidence of systemic hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) to fosaprepitant infusions compared to available literature.
