G protein-coupled receptor 174 (GPR174) is mainly expressed in thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, and leukocytes, and genetic variation in GPR174 is associated with susceptibility to autoimmune diseases, indicating that GPR174 is involved in the immune response. However, the function of GPR174 in regulating inflammatory responses against bacterial infection in sepsis remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the role of GPR174 in regulating suppressive function of regulatory T cells (Treg cells) and the underlying mechanism of Gpr174-deficient Treg cells in controlling cytokine storm of sepsis.

Y box protein 1 (YBX1) is a well known oncoprotein that has tumor-promoting functions. YBX1 is widely considered to be an attractive therapeutic target in cancer. To develop novel therapeutics to target YBX1, it is of great importance to understand how YBX1 is finely regulated in cancer.

Recent evidence has identified the role of granzyme B- and perforin-expressing CD4(+) T cells with cytotoxic potential in antiviral immunity. However, the in vivo cytokine cues and downstream pathways governing the differentiation of these cells are unclear. Here, we have identified that CD4(+) T cells with cytotoxic potential are specifically induced at the site of infection during influenza virus infection.
