The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of low-dose Misoprostol for inducing labor in women and its effects on maternal and fetal outcomes.
Conducted from January to December 2021 at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, the research included 337 pregnant women with a singleton pregnancy, where Misoprostol was used in doses of 25 micrograms every six hours based on the Bishop Score.
Results showed that a high percentage of women (85.1%) delivered spontaneously, with only 10.68% requiring a Caesarean Section, and the majority of neonates had a good APGAR score, indicating that Misoprostol is a safe and effective option for labor induction.
