Solitary fibrous tumor occurring in the colon as submucosal mesenchymal lesion: report of two cases and review of the literature.

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm most often arising from the pleura and rarely in extra-pleural locations, including the gastrointestinal tract. We describe two cases of a SFT presenting as submucosal colonic lesion and review the literature on this lesion. One submucosal lesion was localized in the cecum and was 10 mm in size.
