The SC contains endogenous neural stem cells (NSCs) with multi-lineage differentiation potential and it may be possible to restore function via interventions that promote NSC differentiation following SCI. Oscillating field stimulation (OFS) has been reported to regulate the Wnt signaling pathway, a known modulator of NSC differentiation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: New coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has posed a severe threat to human life and caused a global pandemic. The current research aimed to explore whether the search-engine query patterns could serve as a potential tool for monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19.
Methods: We collected the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases between January 11, 2020, and April 22, 2020, from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
Objectives: To compare the effectiveness and safety of epidural anesthesia (EA) with those of local anesthesia (LA) for percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) and provide reference data for clinical decision-making.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane library, Web of Science, Medline, ScienceDirect, and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure from inception to June 2019 in order to identify randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials comparing EA and LA for PTED. Studies assessing at least 2 of the following indicators were eligible: surgical duration, X-ray exposure time, satisfaction rate, visual analog scale (VAS) scores for pain, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and complications.
