We conducted this meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of magnesium sulfate in women at risk of preterm labor as new research is available from RCTs giving insights into MgSO4 treatment among differing gestational age groups.

Although oral health is critical during pregnancy, it remains frequently overlooked. In this study, the oral health status and hygiene practices of pregnant women attending two university hospitals in southern Italy were evaluated.

An Unusual Case of Pelvic Congestion Syndrome: A Case Report.

This manuscript presents a case of a 35-year-old nulligravida premenopausal woman who presented with acute abdominal pain due to pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS). PCS is characterized by multiple pathophysiological mechanisms and various clinical presentations. Our patient was nulliparous with no history of abdominal surgery.

Resurgence of scabies in Italy: The new life of an old disease.

Scabies, an old parasitic disease with a worldwide presence, has witnessed a recent resurgence in many parts of the world even in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted a study on this resurgence in the Italian province of Messina, Sicily, evaluating the general features of affected people to better understand the possible modes of transmission. Specifically, we considered all the scabies notifications made in the period 2003-2022.

Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic had adverse health outcomes on individuals and communities. In this cross-sectional study we evaluated the admission rates in a tertiary-level hospital during the first wave of the pandemic (March 22, 2020 to August 31, 2020).

Methods: We compared the indications for admission during the first wave of the pandemic to a control period prior to the lockdown (November 9, 2019 to March 22, 2020).
