Unfortunately, in Quebec, there are currently no studies that analyse both precipitation and barley yield.

Background: Oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery (OBCS) has demonstrated superior cosmetic outcomes to traditional breast-conserving surgery (BCS) while maintaining oncologic safety. While prior studies have compared OBCS to mastectomy, there is a scarcity of literature on the impact of social determinants of health on outcomes. Furthermore, although traditionally tumors larger than 5 cm and multifocal disease were treated with mastectomy, the literature has now shown OBCS to be safe in treating such disease.

Objectives: As adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) progress to adulthood, they assume responsibility for diabetes self-management while dealing with competing life demands, decreasing parental support, and the transfer to adult care. Lower perceived quality of life (QOL) may hamper diabetes management, which is associated with suboptimal glycemic levels. Our objective was to determine associations of diabetes- and health-related QOL with glycemic management (glycated hemoglobin [A1C]) in adolescents with T1D before their transfer to adult care.

The influence of storage conditions on the chemistry and flavor of hoppy ales.

Understanding the factors which lead to the (in)stability of the chemistry and sensory of hoppy beer styles such as India Pale Ales (IPAs) has become a major concern for many brewers. Therefore, the evolution of several volatiles under different storage conditions (room temperature, cold storage, forced aging) was investigated in eleven hoppy ales and one lager which were commercially produced in Germany. Compared to the lager, the fresh ales contained higher initial aldehyde levels.

Objective: Renal impairment after repair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm has been associated with post-operative mortality. Acute kidney injury (AKI) risk specifically related to contrast administration in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for intact vs ruptured aneurysms has not been previously described. It was our objective to evaluate the risk of AKI and the association with contrast administration in EVAR for ruptured (rEVAR) and intact (iEVAR) aneurysm repair in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI).

The Prenatal Primary Nursing Care Experience of Pregnant Women in Contexts of Vulnerability: A Systematic Review With Thematic Synthesis.

The contexts of vulnerability are diversified and cover a wide range of situations where pregnant women are likely to experience threats or disparities. Nurses should consider the particular circumstances of women in contexts of vulnerability. We used a qualitative thematic synthesis to describe the experience of these women regarding their prenatal primary nursing care.

Postoperative pain and opioid use after breast reduction with or without preoperative nerve block.

Background: Physician-prescribed opioids have been implicated as key contributing factors in the current opioid epidemic in the United States. Breast reduction mammoplasty is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery and patients are often prescribed large amounts of postoperative opioids. Here we investigate the effects of erector spinae nerve blocks on postoperative pain, opioid consumption, and quality of life after breast reduction.

Background: Patients undergoing breast reduction mammoplasty for symptomatic macromastia have a significantly improved quality of life postoperatively. However, there are no data that examine the effect of reduction mammoplasty on quality of life as a function of the weight of tissue removed. Because the process by which insurance providers consider patients' candidacy for this breast reduction mammoplasty is most often based on the proposed weight of tissue to be removed, this gap in our understanding is particularly glaring.

Evaluation of Variety, Maturity, and Farm on the Concentrations of Monoterpene Diglycosides and Hop Volatile/Nonvolatile Composition in Five Cultivars.

Pentose-hexose monoterpene alcohol glycosides were isolated and semiquantitatively measured in dried cones using UHPLC-qTOF-MS/MS and HPLC fractionation followed by GC-MS. The samples evaluated included hop cones from five important dual-purpose cultivars (varieties) in the United States, from two locations (farms) per variety and from three distinct harvest time points (maturities) per location, as dictated by dry-matter (% w/w) at the time of harvest. Hop variety accounted for the biggest variation among the concentrations of pentose-hexose monoterpene alcohol glycosides as well as other volatile and nonvolatile chemical factors measured in the samples.
