The annual incidence of new or recurrent stroke is approximately 795,000 cases per year in the United States, of which 87% are ischemic in nature. In addition to the management of modifiable high-risk factors to reduce the risk of recurrent stroke, antithrombotic agents (antiplatelets and anticoagulants) play an important role in secondary stroke prevention.

Trauma and overuse can damage these stabilizers, which may then lead to subluxation or dislocation and eventually recurrent instability. This is most common in the anterior direction, which has several recognizable patterns of injury on advanced imaging, including humeral Hill Sachs deformities, bony Bankart lesion of the anteroinferior glenoid, soft tissue Bankart lesions, Bankart variant lesions (Perthes and ALPSA lesions), and HAGL/GAGL lesions.

Foster parents are crucial to the function of the child welfare system. Despite developments in research related to the grief and loss of foster parents, more research would be helpful in building a stronger understanding and knowledge base for helping foster parents manage the removals of foster children in their home. Objective: Although significant investigation has been done into the deposition of gadolinium in the brains of patients receiving IV gadolinium, there is little research concerning nonintravenous uses of gadolinium, specifically in conjunction with musculoskeletal MR arthrography. Although small in volume, intraarticular administration is an off-label use of gadolinium, necessitating careful scrutiny for patient safety. A secondary aim is to determine whether the outcome of arthroscopy correlates with intraarticular pathologic findings or patient demographic characteristics.
Materials And Methods: Ninety-three patients who underwent MR arthrography (MRA), preoperative injections of anesthetic into the hip joint (with pain scores documented), and subsequent hip arthroscopy (with a modified Harris Hip Score [mHHS] determined at 1 year after arthroscopy) were included in the study.
Rationale And Objectives: In this article, we review the core principles of bone physiology alongside imaging examples that demonstrate such principles.
Materials And Methods: The core principles of bone physiology are reviewed and further solidified with a corresponding abnormal pathophysiologic example. The key principles of bone physiology to be reviewed include the following: (1) formation and growth, (2) maintenance and repair, (3) metabolism and regulation, and (4) neoplastic disease.

Introduction: Pre-clinical investigation of stem cells for repairing damaged myocardium predominantly uses rodents, however large animals have cardiac circulation closely resembling the human heart. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether SPECT/CT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) could be used for assessing sheep myocardium following an acute myocardial infarction (MI) and response to intervention.
Methods: Eighteen sheep were enrolled in a pilot study to evaluate [(99m)Tc]-sestamibi MPI at baseline, post-MI and after therapy.
Objectives: The study aims to characterize the electrical response of dorsal column axons to depolarizing stimuli to help understand the mechanisms of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) for the relief of chronic pain.
Materials And Methods: We recorded electrically evoked compound action potentials (ECAPs) during SCS in 10 anesthetized sheep using stimulating and recording electrodes on the same epidural SCS leads. A novel stimulating and recording system allowed artifact contamination of the ECAP to be minimized.
Purpose: We determined whether super selective radio embolization of the porcine kidney was technically feasible and evaluated histopathological changes in the treatment target zone (upper or lower renal pole), adjacent nontargeted kidney, and adjacent and distant organs after administering (90)Y labeled vs bland resin microspheres.
Materials And Methods: We performed super selective radio embolization with (90)Y resin microspheres in 1 kidney and with an equivalent number of bland microspheres in the corresponding pole of the contralateral kidney as a control. The aim was to achieve radio embolization of a target zone equivalent to approximately a third of the kidney volume.
