Diatoms, the main eukaryotic phytoplankton of the polar marine regions, are essential for the maintenance of food chains specific to Arctic and Antarctic ecosystems, and are experiencing major disturbances under current climate change. As such, it is fundamental to understand the physiological mechanisms and associated molecular basis of their endurance during the long polar night. At the end of July 2021, a bloom of Lingulodinium polyedra developed along the French Atlantic coast and lasted six weeks. The REPHY monitoring network and the citizen participation project PHENOMER contributed to its observation. A maximum concentration of 3,600,000 cells/L was reached on the 6th of September, a level never recorded on French coastlines.

Two phenylspirodrimanes, never isolated before, stachybotrin J () and new stachybocin G (-stachybocin A) (), along with the already reported stachybotrin I (), stachybotrin H (), stachybotrylactam (), stachybotrylactam acetate (), 2-acetoxystachybotrylactam acetate (), stachybotramide (), chartarlactam B (), and F1839-J () were isolated from the sponge-associated fungus MUT 3308. Their structures were established based on extensive spectrometric (HRMS) and spectroscopic (1D and 2D NMR) analyses. Introduction: We sought to develop an efficient method to upgrade pacing-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) patients from a leadless pacemaker (LPM) to cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Methods And Results: Three consecutive patients with chronic atrial fibrillation, implanted with an LPM, with permanent right ventricular pacing, and who developed left ventricular systolic dysfunction due to PICM, were included. A conventional biventricular pacemaker with two different coronary sinus leads, one used for left lateral ventricular pacing, one for early right ventricular sensing, was implanted.
