Background: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to anterior circulation tandem lesion (TL) remains a technical and clinical challenge for endovascular treatment (EVT). Conflicting results from observational studies and missing evidence from the randomized trials led us to report a recent real-world multicenter clinical experience and evaluate possible predictors of good outcome after EVT.

Methods: We analyzed all AIS patients with TL enrolled in the prospective national study METRICS (Mechanical Thrombectomy Quality Indicators Study in Czech Stroke Centers).

Background And Purpose: Rigorous and regular evaluation of defined quality indicators is crucial for further improvement of both technical and clinical results after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Following the recent international multi-society consensus quality indicators, we aimed to assess trend in these indicators on national level.

Material And Methods: The prospective multicenter study (METRICS) was conducted in Czech Republic (CR) in year 2019.

Introduction: Ischemic complications are a notable cause of morbidity in patients after pancreatic head resections. Stenosis of celiac axis in patients undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy requires further perioperative attention.

Case Report: We present a patient with pancreatic head malignancy scheduled for Whipple procedure in the setting of hemodynamically significant celiac axis stenosis.

The goal was to prove that when a cohort of patients is chosen precisely, dorsal column stimulation provides significant improvement to quality of life. We studied a cohort of 50 patients with the history of failed back surgery syndrome coupled with epidural fibrosis (EF). A percutaneous implantation technique was used in each of the 50 patients.

Background And Purpose: Experienced multidisciplinary stroke team and well-organized hospital management are considered necessary to achieve good results after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in acute ischemic stroke patients. We analyzed the technical results of MT performed in the Czech Republic in the year 2016 to provide relevant data for further quality improvement.

Material And Methods: All centers performing MT in the CR were called for detailed technical and clinical data from year 2016, which were anonymously analyzed and relevant technical key time intervals were compared.

Endovascular techniques are still expanding in their capability by introducing novel technologies. Nevertheless, anterior communicating artery (ACoA) remains the region with high propensity for aneurysm (AN) re-growth after endovascular intervention. The purpose of this study is to highlight the ongoing importance for microsurgical treatment.

Introduction: Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a quite novel method of tissue ablation. Its mechanism of action that does not use thermal energy is the most important feature of the method. Current experience with IRE in animal studies and in clinical practice are summarized in the paper.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of multimodal endovascular treatment (EVT) of acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO), including bridging therapy [intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) with subsequent EVT], to compare particular EVT techniques and identify predictors of clinical outcome.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective, multi-centre study comprised 72 acute ischaemic stroke patients (51 males; mean age 59.1 ± 13.

Background: We analysed the results of internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis treatment at our institution over the last 10 years according to treatment modalities (carotid endarterectomy [CEA] vs carotid artery stenting [CAS]). Furthermore, we compared our results of treatment prior to the EVA-3S study being implemented into our practice (2003-2007) and after that (2008-2012).

Method: During the years 2003-2012, a total of 1,471 procedures were performed for ICA stenosis.

Object: The main aim of this study was to compare clinical and radiological outcomes after stabilization by a percutaneous transpedicular system and stabilization from the standard open approach for thoracolumbar spine injury.

Methods: Thirty-seven consecutive patients were enrolled in the study over a period of 16 months. Patients were included in the study if they experienced 1 thoracolumbar fracture (A3.

Study Design: A prospective study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare clinical and radiological efficacy of anterior cervical microdiscectomy and fusion done by the newly designed low-profile interbody spacer in cases of symptomatic cervical spine spondylosis.

Summary Of Background Data: There are basically 2 ways to provide interbody fusion in the degenerative cervical spine; the first is by way of an unanchored "stand-alone" bone graft or cage, and the second is with bone graft or a cage anchored with a plate.

Background: The helical contrast CT plays an important role in the management of abdominal trauma. For surgeons its reliability and utilization remain questionable.

Objective: The study aimed at correlating CT results at admission with surgical findings in patients undergoing laparotomy for blunt abdominal trauma, detecting CT sensitivity for therapeutic laparotomy and uncovering organ injury.
